Banner for Rochester Cathedral

As part of Rochester Diocese's 1400th Anniversary celebrations this year our children were invited todesign and make a panel for a large banner which will be displayed in Rochester Cathedral during the summer. Our panel contributes to the banner entitled 'Miracles' and we were given the task of depicting the story of the raising of Lazarus. (Read John chapter 11 if you are not familiar with the story)




The children at Saturday club heard and discussed the story and then all had a go at designing the panel. The finished design is a combination of all the children's ideas. A few weeks later we spent a happy morning making our panel from felt, wadding and a few other fabrics. All the children contributed to the finished piece and we were very pleased with how it turned out. If you want to see it in its full glory, try to pop in to Rochester Cathedral during the summer months and admire our work along with the work of many other children around the diocese.
