Rev'd John Benson
John was born in Bristol in 1951. His father was in the Navy and so he lived in several places including Hong Kong and Gibraltar, settling eventually in Hartley. He spent most of his secondary education at King's School, Rochester, so has a feeling of coming home. He met his wife Pat at University, married shortly after graduation and went to live in Zambia. After returning to England they settled in Devon where he worked as a farm manager. He became a Christian, felt called to the Anglican Ministry and was ordained in Exeter in 1985. Since then he has served in several parishes in the West Country. Pat and John have three children, Ben, David and Elizabeth. They are delighted to have moved back to Kent and look forward to meeting everyone.
