Church Warden
I am a Kentish Maid and a farmer's daughter which is probably why I enjoy the countryside, love wild flowers and am very fond of pigs! I have had pet pigs in the past but am more conventional now and have settled for a rather lazy cat.
My two brothers have lived in Australia all their married lives and six years ago my daughter and her husband decided to emigrate to Australia too. People often ask when I am going to move out there but, much as I miss them and visit as often as I can, my roots are firmly planted here. Fortunately my two sons live quite near and I have a delightful grand-daughter here. I also have three step children with families, do the financial administration for a children's day nursery, help children with after school English and Maths, go to Yoga classes, belong to a reading group and have good friends who I love to meet for lunch or tea and cake! So I have very good reasons for staying put.
I have always felt uplifted from attending church services and enjoy visiting different churches. In the last few years I have learnt a great deal from taking part in Alpha courses and several other courses run by the diocese of Rochester which have all helped to strengthen my faith. I now look forward to taking a more active role in church life and feel privileged to serve as Church Warden of St.Margaret's.
